Extremely well-researched with first-hand accounts and legal records. Tanya Talaga does an excellent job of centering Anishnaabe voices in the greater narrative of the conditions that have allowed Seven Feathers to fall.

Very thoroughly researched chapters (wouldn’t expect anything less from the journalist author). As a policy geek, it gives me insight into the barriers to secondary and post-secondary educational attainment for Indigenous students in Canada
