They did it in Bride too. Which was an objectively terrible book on all fronts, it was as silly as Kiss of the Basilisk with none of the self-awareness and tongue-in-cheek unhinged whimsy… but this was the move that made me rant in my Bride review. Luther better shape the fuck up real quick.
