Taking the time to write a full review of this, but absolutely a ten out of ten. I don’t think every good story has to be a parable, but I do think every good story has to feel real. And this felt real.

Very mixed feelings about Dean and Sal, the unreliable narration is unrelying narrating verily.

About halfway through the book, and I can’t help but like Sal. Or maybe ‘like’ isn’t the word, but if not that, then ‘feel softness for’. He’s flawed, an unreliable narrator, but for me that’s what makes him feel real. I cannot help but think of Holden Caufield from catcher in the Rye, and I say that with some type of heartache in my throat.
