He was in prison for two years because a drug dealer raped his sister and he beat up a different drug dealer to find out where the rapist was so the police could arrest him so he had to serve two years. In the meantime she had a boyfriend that was also a lawyer with her, and so it was a very slow burn of him, trying to win her back obviously, in the end he does and they wed for real in Vegas
