I challenged myself to read more classics this year, and I'm enjoying this book so far, but WHAT is it with Russian authors loving to waffle?! This book has no business being this long!
Also, I think I'm gonna have to make some sort of character spreadsheet to keep track of everyone because I still have no idea who any of these people are or how they are related to one another 🙃

I feel like I'm stuck in some sort of Russian matrix. I read a million pages and the percentage complete only increases the tiniest bit.

@Robert I definitely think breaking it up into smaller parts is the right way to go if I'm going to retain anything 😅 It's great when a book has a positive lasting impact; I'm glad that you seem to have enjoyed what you read!
War and Peace is definitely on the list, although I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit intimidated by it.
Mentally breaking up Tolstoy into smaller parts helps for me. For instance the hunting for snipes scene later in the book made me feel that I was right there with the hunters. I still think of it now and then.
