the end of the movie was so underwhelming TT
they have some really progressive topics in this book, i dont remember exactly when it was written and the exact political/social climate of that time, but homosexuality, challenging gender norms (possibly a trans character??), open relationships, sex before marriage, abortion, its cool to read in a not super modern book
