‘As she gained the top step, she found Ethan Travis standing near one of the center columns. He could have passed as a statue of a saint, so handsome & still was he. Then she realized there was nothing saintly in that utter stillness, but a watchful awareness that was prepared for anything & missed nothing. It was a lethal stillness, & it made her shiver.’

Not sure how Ethan—who’s known for his familiarity with the gritty low-class neighborhoods & has large network of sources in those places—can have failed to realize that Lady Sarah isn’t a streetwalker, or even a courtesan. Helloooo. Simply wearing pants & a boy’s shirt can’t hide that much aristocratic breeding (or hygiene, because Regency poor = dirty).

I am bored. Because this book is boring.

I need to either get into this one or ditch it & try something else. I hate to give up on a Sarah heroine, & hero Ethan is appealing (dark + dangerous Regency rogue, y’know? 😏), but the plot needs to pick up soon or I’m moving on. My overstuffed Harlequin shelf needs to drop some weight. (Too many Olive Garden breadsticks…oh, wait. That’s me.)

“You should consider charging for your observations & advice, sir, since they are such little gems of wisdom. Then, too, those who do not want it would not be forced to listen to it.” ….Heh. Look, it’s my opinion of social media in two sentences or less. 😈
