i swear i don’t even know why guns are still a thing in america. so many people die every year from it and we’re keeping it because….why again? no reason. the only reason why the amendment was added to the bill of rights was because we were in a literal war. people should have a right to arms when provoked, but when there’s no harm in your way, don’t go waving around a potential murder weapon.

@grace Actually, that is a false statement as the revolutionary war was over in 1783 and the second amendment was ratified in 1791. This was created so that the American people have the right to bear arms and this right shall not be infringed and in DC v Heller (2008) allowed this to be interpreted into protecting an individual's right to hold a firearm. It is a fundamental right, and the right to defend yourself should never be taken away. Yes, gun violence is a problem, but that is the human condition and nature. This is the tragic death of a human being and now his children will not grow up with a father. Because of a difference of opinion. I haven't agreed with some of the things that he has said, but he never deserved to die. Political violence has no room to stand in America.
