The way it's broken down in to lots of different aspects of his writings make it easy to pick and choose, so it doesn't have to feel so long. If some sections don't interest you, you can just skip them. It's also best if you want to learn about Che Guevara the guy, I think if you just wanted to cut to his thoughts and opinions a more slimmed-down text without all the diaries might do you better!
