I've been sick with a cold this week and I struggled to do anything, including reading. So, I did not advance much.
PS. I jumped ahead to the last chapter, because i was annoyed by a certain aspect of the book. WTF. How am I going to wait for 3 years now?

Things are getting interesting with the case.
The will they won't they transformed into a teenage melodrama . Why am I eating it up, though?

Sorry to hear you've been ill. On the bright side, you're still further ahead than I am :)

Yeah, I've been feeling the same way. It's definitely a step down from at least the previous few books, if not the series as a whole, both in terms of character angles and how interesting the mystery is. Though, I do think Kim is a nice addition to the cast, I hope she sticks around. Otherwise, I really hope things pick up.

Actually, it might be the least favourite. I still a some way to go, but I do not have high hopes. Kim will probably betray Strike one way or another and get fired. I feel liked she's there only to create conflict between the 2 lovebirds.

I originally thought that maybe tiredness or some external factor was keeping me from reading like I usually do, but I'm thinking it might be because the book's not so good.
I mean, usually with this series, around 100-150 pages in, I'll write some status about being certain it's going to be a 4-star read, but I don't know yet; and, frankly, if things don't turn around I may just rate this 2-stars.
I might be overselling Kim, but at least she's the only one doing stuff to make the story interesting, even if it's purely as a tricker figure or chaos agent. Strike and Robin have just been dragging their feet the whole time.
