I don’t get why people think watching porn & reading smut is different. Either way, ur letting your mind get duller in the spirit & thinking of things that clearly do not align with his word. “whatever is true, whatever is honest, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Phil 4:8

Korynne Absolutely agree they are the same thing and affect the mind the same way.

⚞☆bellaaaa(tanka jahari's pizza)☆⚟ AMEN! I have been saying this for years! that's why it makes me sad when I see Christian in their bio, but then in their favorites list is Sarah J Mass. Ya'll, the devil always offers his best before Christ does. There are books out there that give you the same dopamine that also give glory to God and don't make your mind depraved!

Ѽ tazannah Ѽ Exactly Bella

Barnette ⋆˙⟡ [my girlfriend's version] Sorry how is smut the work of the devil or a sin or whatever? It's just a type of book people like reading. I know it can become addicting but who are you to judge what people read and how does it dull your spirit?

minnie. (reading slump) I agree with Barnette

message 13: by Ѽ tazannah Ѽ (new)

Ѽ tazannah Ѽ @barnette- both illustrate things of this world. 1 John 2:16 warns us about “the lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and the pride of life.” John talks about how the lust of the flesh, which includes, Smut, is something the devil implants. He is the god of this world. It is not “from the father”. Would you watch porn? It’s equivalent, just In written form.

It dulls our inner Holy Spirit by grieving it. The Bible warns us about searing our spirit so much to the point of oblivion of sinning. Ephesians 4:30 says, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

I understand that you may not agree with me, but as children of God, we should “be perfect as Jesus is perfect” and live to please the father. Not ourselves.

After all, our hearts are deceitful and desperately wicked

btw, im not religious, so please forgive me if i say anything offensive bc i support all religions. I would not watch porn, but im fine with reading smut and sex in books because when reading a romance book, sex is sometimes part of a romantic relationship, and its part of life so i dont relaly understand why it is a sin to read it?

minnie. (reading slump) im genuinely asking, im not trying to be hateful in anyway 🤍

Ѽ tazannah Ѽ I believe that s*x before marriage is a sin. Jesus talks about purity. He doesn’t condemn it, as long as it’s within a married couple. I’m not saying that it’s not a part of life, but authors choosing to include it is really not necessary nor does it prove purity in a relationship. Jesus even tells a woman who has been caught in the act when not to

The Bible talks about putting to death our own lust. “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.” Spice is impurity and satisfying our earthly desires.

I would argue that s*x in books today aren’t as much as part of the romance but to appease readers and check off the boxes of a “typical YA book.” Reading books that are clean are just so much more wholesome imo

Ѽ tazannah Ѽ I completely understand, thanks for asking :)

message 19: by Audrey (new)

Audrey Laws of nature apply to the spirit as well as the physical body. Poison will make you obviously ill, but bad health habits become unnoticeable after a time. If you are consuming porn in any form, it damages your spirit, making it difficult to form healthy relationships. Many don't notice. But stay away from it for a while, and you'll see the difference.

Ѽ tazannah Ѽ Exactly
Well said Audrey
