Finishing this book out of spite.

I like those paragraphs where the author isn't trying to show off how smart and well-read he is.

Boy, do I love the feeling of being talked down to by a book whose main character is using "autistic" as a slur.

I know authors write with a dictionary next to them (I do, too) but that's for looking up a word that will best fit the sentence, not to cram their sentences with as many obnoxious adjectives and synonyms as possible.
