ive been going through herrera's work trying to relive season of the swamp again. so now i'm getting into his very cheesy noir books of questionable quality but finding they are nowhere as bleak and cruel as a lot of stories about chauvinistic men can be, despite being set in a bleak and cruel landscape, interspersed with sex and crude humor... and honestly? i'm loving it.
