ANTAGONIST: The antagonist in this story is Karl von Dus. The text says, “we will get that dirty little boy” (Author, page #). This is significant because (It creates conflict…, It challenges the protagonist Karl wants to kill or destroy the main character Anton; he is dead set on killing Anton and all jews possible.

DYNAMIC: Anton is a dynamic character. In the story it says, “Silence was life stillness was freedom" (22). This shows that in the beginning of the war Anton was more flexible; he could do more activities but now he had to remain in complete silence and stillness . The change or lack of change is important since it reveals that he has to be inconspicuous and not even be able to be spotted or heard.

CONFLICT: the fight is character vs society in multiple ways it displays ways of how the Nazis (a society) is persecuting Anton or the Jews in general so if the Nazis are a society and a society is a group of organized people with a government than that means they the the book the enemy above is a character vs society situation.

PREDICTIONS: one of my predictions is that he will not be able to free Bube his grandmother it reads that he doesn't even have a plan "As he walked, he tried desperately to come up with a plan to free his grandmother. he was running out of time. Michael P. Spradlin P.122 it basically says that he is not prepared for what he wants to do. the squad will most likely reach the road.

Perspective: the perspective of my book the enemy above is 3rd person limited because in many cases instead of saying it .it says anton wich means in some ways it is 3rd person. but to prove it is not 3rd person omniscient because it only tells the perspective from anton only.

PROTAGONIST: Anton, a 12 year-old Jewish boy who is hiding from the Nazis. In the story it says, “Anton knew that Daniel was still worried about his mother and sister, he didn't want his friend to have anything else to fret over” (54). This illustrates that Anton is Anton is a good person because he didn't want his friend to be scared about anything because he felt bad about having Daniel be scared for anything.

setting The setting is war torn Ukraine were a Jewish family is on the run from the Nazis and they hide out in a cave with 28 other people
