I am interested in this, but currently struggling with the timeline. I feel like it's supposed to be late 60s/early 70s. But the cops are investigating in a way where they're concerned about evidence, which is crazy because DNA didn't start up til like the 80s. Doesn't make sense. And someone just used the word "nonbinary"

I'm trying to get over what feels like it may be issues with police work, but it is difficult. I'm trying to act like this book is set more in the 70s than 60s but they keep bringing up the Beatles and Puff the Magic Dragon. That being said, now they're talking about swabbing blood to see if it's victim's or killer's. DNA evidence wasn't a thing. Best they would have had is blood type. That better be it.

Once again, putting on latex gloves. Still doesn't make sense to me. This is 60s/70s. No DNA, no fingerprints, no blood or body to contaminate. Why would they be wearing gloves?

Now, this book is talking about somebody not being able to get out of the car due to a seatbelt. Seatbelt mandates weren't a thing until the 80s. Why would this character have even been wearing one?
