The narrator is the 19th century equivalent of how modern people sound when they talk about some podcaster whose work and opinion they revere, only, our boy is even less apologetic about being a fanboy of his intellectual idol. Good for him.

I truly enjoy this unique premise: a heist(?) that a nerd is trying to pull in pursuit of his niche obsession, aided by a married lady whom he's not romantically involved in.
