Amren is doing jigsaw puzzles. Big ones, and a lot of them. You gotta love that bitch.

Putting life off didn't make a lick of sense. I knew what I wanted.

"Without that odious Book to decipher, I've found I miss such things." Another piece snapped into place. "This is my fifth this week."
"We're only three days into the week."
"They don't make them hard enough for me."
"How many pieces is this one?"
"Five thousand."
"Show-off."
Amren tutted to herself, then straightened in her chair, rubbing her back and wincing. "Good for the mind, but bad for the posture."

was just so over the top and in your face that it really got to me this time. It sometimes feels like Maas wants to write a flawed character without any flaws. It feels like a lot of “tell” and barely any “show”.
Also, that she really just fridged Feyres dad is kinda hilarious in how obvious it was.
But for all the tropes these books use, I feel it is somewhat self aware and knows what it is.

My main criticism on these books would be how some characters, especially Rhysand, are written as these ridiculously good and nobel people that you just have to adore and worship. I felt this way a few times since the second book, but reading how Feyre known Rhysand had always donated a lot of money to charity, but now after the war wanted her to pick wich one to give even more,
