I tend to go back and watch The Sting and Butch & Sundance annually. And don’t sleep on Quiz Show, fantastic and endlessly re-watchable movie. He got 89 years, we should all hope to be as lucky. And he had maybe the greatest head of hair in the history of the universe.

Oh, of course; he had a long and adventurous life. Quiz Show is a fucking great movie, but the tonal opposite of River in terms of bliss out movies. But Turturro in that movie? Holy fucking Lord; that man have statue erected in his honor yet?!? Coen’s work alone, but I’m 30+ years haunted by him having to chunk “Marty.” The scene w his wife and he’s just losing it over the question they make him throw being so common. That’s a scene that’s deep stem memory for me. “Marty!”

Turturro is a national treasure. One of the absolute greats, up there w anyone. Rangeless.

Couldn’t agree more on Turturro. The range is unreal. There’s no role he cannot do. He’s even subtly fantastic in The Color of Money, and I don’t know if he has 5 lines.

I also really love Rob Morrow in Quiz Show. I don’t know if I’ve ever really seen him in anything else, but he’s so good in that role.

You, or I, or we(together) have inspired a rewatch at the top of the docket. The older I get the more I want to watch or rewatch old movies. The new shit that looks worthwhile is few and far between.

The last movie I went and saw was the Jaws 50th anniversary. Taking my daughter was a rite of passage;all the jump scares still work. She was enthralled.
Before that…and excluding her…The Master. PTA. No shit.
Wasn’t Morrow the lead in Northern Exposure? If so, he either had a sustained moment or my memory is distorted by my liking the show a lot at the time.
