I'm seeing why this is a classic that has merit being taught in schools but it's not for the commonly cited reason of the whole class division thing. This book does well at transporting you back to a different time. Especially in the vocabulary, this does a great job of making a kid actually have to think and dissect the text to figure out what the characters are saying with the slang.

You can def tell that a teenager wrote this by the writing style. Not saying that in a negative way, just stating a fact.
