There's not enough. And not in a good way. It should be padded out with just more writing because it's too short to really get to know the characters and the context/setting.

I'm enjoying it - the story is NOT well-written; it feels as though I've been dropped in for the second act after less than a page of exposition. Nonetheless, it's entertaining, AND it's GAY and about VAMPIRES !!

Feel like the beginning is a bit cliché, but obviously at the time it would have been revolutionary. I do wish I had read Carmilla before any other vampire stories. Perhaps my interaction with Vampire lore henceforth ought to be in chronological order of its being eternalised in literature, and this seems like the best place to start.
