The La Quinta story is ridiculous. Who doesn’t check to see if a hotel allows pets ahead of time? Who brings a dog that doesn’t behave to a hotel? Who mocks a disabled person? Talk about white male privilege.

Oh now we’re disparaging sex workers. Apparently only old enfeebled women should do sex work.

Why insult Agnostics? We’re just minding our own business.

His career stories are interesting. Mom is increasingly toxic. How did he make it to adulthood and not know which continent the Amazon River is on? Freud would have a field day with his wet dream. The asides (note to self and prescribes) are getting really annoying. Must be nice to take off every time you have an existential crisis.

We’ve had some interesting stories but now we’re somehow unemployed and broke in Europe. We meet Johann who allows a bunch of young guys drive off on motorcycles that they couldn’t pay for, but somehow it’s Johann’s wife (of the hairy armpits) who is the bad guy because she rightly didn’t trust a bunch of young guys with motorcycles and no money. One motorcycle was totaled.

Well the Australia chapter was fun but now we’re beating the shit out of a bouncer for having the audacity to put his hand on his Dad’s shoulder. Another cute coming of age story.

Oh fun! Brother threatens to kill his coach if he tells his dad that he was smoking weed. But don’t forget that the author assures us that they weren’t scared of their dad.

Brother is doing good at work. Dad decides to sabotage him by insisting bro help him steal pipes from his biggest client. When bro decline dad hits him. A fight ensues in which bro knocks dad out with a 2x4. When dad wakes up he cries how proud he is of his son. This is told as a cute coming of age story. At any point does the author acknowledge that he had an abusive childhood?

Chapter one: talked about how much his family loves each other. Goes on to detail extensive physical and emotional abuse, an unsettled childhood, and how his mom taught him to cheat. Dad has traditional values like respecting women, unless they’re yelling at you then it’s ok to break their finger.
