This is great writing. It is clean, economical, ardent, and propulsive. The story is enthralling. Words are seldom if ever the awkward choice, or the pace hobbling choice. The humor always lands. Sentiment is mostly appropriate. I would say that of the several horror books I've read this past year, this one is tops in terms of consistent flawless prose. I'm expecting to award this one a 5* because of this. Bravo!
