The characters are much better rounded-out as the book goes along. I am pleasantly surprised.

The story is increasingly catching my attention - thinking a little of Redwall and a little of Wingfeather - but the characters' personalities seem only very minimally differentiated so far. And it feels a mite strange to not know my point of view people yet when I'm several chapters in. I hope that aspect improves. It's looking fun regardless, though.
