Read before Hero's part, I've just started Leander's part and wow. Pavić did it. We all narrative writers dream of made two stories that form part of a bigger story. When I finished Hero's part, with just a few inches of Leander, I thought "What is Pavić doing? He is finishing the story". But you can read both separately, and (as far I go) they can be two separate books. But they are one.
