People rave about the second book being even better than the first so I’m still hanging in there for a really good plot after all this dull info dump !!
Some books reeeeeallly, REALLY suffer from the "I want you to be able to read this without even knowing there is a first book!" And I think that is a horrible, horrible mistake.
