I can already tell this is gonna be better than the Netflix series. I already see differences in the book compared to the show:
1) Hope and Doc are not married
2) Doc doesn’t make Mel a secretary and seems to actually want her help
3) The love interest between Mel and Jack happens a lot quicker

Many more differences I’ve noticed from the Netflix series:
Connie has a heart attack in the book, not Hope.
Liz and Ricky do the deed.
Mel goes fly fishing ?!?
The romantic interest happens a lot quicker in the book between Jack and Mel.
