Heather seems to be the only one with any sense. Why would you go to a very private island to see koalas and give money to dodgy men to do it? The chaos afterwards was inevitable. The author also uses a lot of clichés in his description of the protagonists - stupid Americans who don't know much except for money, a backwoods family with an isolated island that attracts tourists and kidnaps them and is led by Ma.
