A mite disappointed in the Booker shortlist - esp. my #1 ranked (Seascraper) missing out - and my 2 lowest ranking being IN. These were my rankings:
2 The Land in Winter
5 Loneliness of S & S
6 Flashlight
7 Audition
12 Rest of Our Lives
13 Flesh
I'd be OK with any of the first three winning - but with my track record it WILL be Flesh! :-(

I’ve read a good chunk of that list. Gobsmaked that Flesh (one of the worst novels I have ever read) made it.

I hate that Loneliness of S & S wasn't even released to the general public so how were we supposed to read it

I've let it go as just something to expect. This year I was lucky enough to score an ARC of Sonia & Sunny, so finished the longlist 3 weeks ago. :-)

Yes, Seascraper and Lonely in Winter are the only Booker-worthy novels. I really enjoyed three-quarters of Flesh, but those dialogues… not OK :). I hated Universality (awful writing) and Audition (pretentious as f).
