I no longer relate to the author and his version of disgust towards himself. He feels paralyzed by fear to the point where he allows someone to assault his wife. Not because he is a victim himself within the attack, but because he does not want to get involved in the complication of human beings and he has never felt the need to fight for his possessions. What? You mean fight for your wife?

Nevertheless, I've always wanted to read this. I have always felt a certain disgust within myself that this book could highlight. Sometimes it feels good to know other people feel this way.
