Whenever I think it's getting good, evangeline just finds a way to piss me off

I love the world, but I still can't with Evangeline.
How can someone have such a saviour complex and be a damsel in distress at the same time??
Although, I do see the chemistry now between her and Jacks. I still don't get it.
I really want to finish the book tonight, but its giving me a headache.

I like it more than the last, but I still don’t like the characters…

I didn't like the first book, but from what I heard, I should still continue the series despite that. I saw videos saying that this book is the best of the trilogy, and the reviews seem really promising, so I really hope I'd enjoy this.
