Chapter 5 was a bit of a weird read, but I appreciate how Mark Manson states how we need to acknowledge political views and show skepticism to news outlets that create generalized disagreements. I also liked how he states how our priorities change when our old lifestyles don’t match to our ideals.

Discussing “false memory” with the example of a 1980s feminist who accused her father of sexual assault, only to later change her stance that it was a made up event is stupidly irresponsible. “Perhaps the answer is to trust yourself less. After all, if our hearts and minds are unreliable, maybe we should be questioning our own intentions and motivations more.” Omg, shut up!!!

In Chapter 3, he states, “ the truth is that there’s no such thing as a personal problem. If you got a problem, chances are millions of other people have it in the past,” and then saying that we’re “not special” for having such shared/similar experiences. No humility. No compassion. No redirection. No healing. He literally sounds like a privileged jerk.
