I sensed a pattern that's frequently repeated in pretty much all of the stories I read until now: immigration, resenting one's homeland, being ashamed of one's home country, homesickness, inter racial couples.

Insight on the 1st story:
I tried to see things from both perspectives: Nadia's and Lateefa's. The lack of communication is apparent between the two, and that's due to one huge issue: language barrier. Nadia communicates in English only while Lateefa's English is broken which irritates Nadia. I loved that Nadia took the decision to study Arabic during her gap year and I hope that she will get to understand her mom.
