Lagged a little around the 40% mark and I kept zoning out… picking back up now. The middle sections feel very flashback heavy, some sections with a lot of interior exposition.

Umm… well… my library hold expired when I had less than an hour of 19 left, and I was like, “nah I think I’m good.” Great premise, some pretty language and interesting nuggets, but disjointed and weirdly lacking in stakes for a book that takes place in hell? The last 1/4 seemed to unravel and was hard to follow. The big name reviewers either loved it or totally panned it, so it’s controversial—you’ll love it or hate it!
