so far books 1-2 were great book 3 is setting up new adversary arc and moving a lot more things on country sized scales. some MCs have small children and im not sure i like the character dev of them yet. Hopefully 2/2 of book 3 has more excitement / action still enjoying though.

ending for book 3 was something i didn't see coming! as far as child character go shella's nephew seems ok but still not invested in Delphine's kid. IDK her mix of powers is too OP or something for a one year old with a toddler mentality

this book is so good so much has happened in the first 1.5 books idk where they will go for the rest of the series. beginning of book 2 is qa bit slow on pacing but it picks up. we follow: MCs from book 1, the sanagg chief Agang, fire mage Keira, and Kallop as they free the Kell and Rehain slaves. read trials of Daphne Holdfast if you want to know about Agang and feel a bit lost.

I just started this today and I love it! the writing style is so easy to enjoy, author perfectly balances character building, action, and description. i haven't seen any obvious info dumps and the characters are likeable so far, and the races/ cultures are unique. fair warning this empire does have slavery snake- people culture are kind of dicks to everyone else so far.
