Power Study -
This was a nice little look at how things were going back in Ixia.
More specifically, how Ari, Janco and Maren were doing, being Valek’s seconds on a typical day... until a magical problem arose.
A concept was introduced which I thought was interesting... Is that a hint at something from the last 3 books?

I’m glad Snyder is a panter!
While the outline for this story sounded interesting, I prefer how the story evolved. Plus I thought the official ending was a lot better.
Given the nature of the story, there isn’t a whole lot of background information. We don’t learn as much about Valek’s past as I thought we might. (The assassin referenced in the title is not V.)
Still a good story tho!

I loved this!
We get a glimpse of what Ambrose grew up with while it also clarifies things I remember not quite understanding within the original series.
I appreciate the fact that Ambrose just accepts the extra voice in his head (IYKYK) and doesn’t constantly question it. It makes sense because he’s grown up with it.
The only thing that pulled me out slightly was ‘challenge accepted’.

I’ve only read two pages where Snyder is talking to the reader but I already love it!
