As I’m reading, I’m frequently googling the conversion rate for a single franc in the 1800s to USD today. Every single time, I’m blown away by the amount of treasure on Monte Christo. Wow.

Oh yay! I can’t wait! Is that like 25% through the book? I am reading on my phone so the page counts are a little mixed up.

I read an abridged version I didn't realize was abridged and it was still slow X'D the ending is worth it though!
It does get better, though… once you hit page 200ish, something flips, and it goes from dreadfully boring to pretty interesting.
