big fan of the dramatic irony in this book. mc says things like, "Everyone who found out where I was going immediately crossed themselves & warded against the evil eye. A woman fell to my feet & begged me not to go, & pressed a crucifix into my hands when I told her I must. I keep overhearing words like 'devil' & 'satan' when people talk of me. I will have to make sure to ask my Good Friend Mr. Dracula about this."
