Raw and humorous.
Before picking up this book, it never occurred to me how much I could relate to this kind of queer coming-of-age story. Marci’s experiences thus far have echoed certain situations I’ve been through and sent me back to a time where I was worse off.
On the other hand, Trujillo’s choice of a child as the narrator adds a special innocence to the story, showing just how much children can see
