Only halfway through but absolutely devouring this. George’s speech on his country, St. Clare’s speech on slavery to Ophelia, the moral battle fought by every character! And the characters are so well fleshed out I feel as though I have known them all my life. Religion burns throughout, I see clearly how we got to where we are today. This book is so rich. I am seeing America in a new light.
