They lost the sword. For generations it had been protected then the INSTANT they get their stupid grubby hands on it, WHOOSH, she flys off with it. No plan on how to transport it safely or conceal it –it’s huge and glowy btw– just walking thru a thick scary ass forest that legend says the witch occupied before. And surprise surprise— SHES THERE WAITING FOR THE DUMBASSES TO GRAB IT FOR HER.
