"Sometimes someone is literally looking for a reason to live. Someone is looking for a reason to feel good. And we get to give it to them. With a smile. With a compliment. By paying for their coffee. That person might have been asking the universe for a sign to keep going."

"The "world" isn't some vague concept. The "world" is just people. And you are "people".
You are a stranger who thousands of people will interact with in this lifetime. You have the power to leave the world a better place. Kindness is contagious. You can be the reason someone goes home smiling today, sighing in relief that the world isn't so bad after all."

"But how can I feel joy without guilt?"
Your joy and relaxation is not
"selfish", because it also belongs to every single person you share your life with.
It is generous for you to love the shit out of your life. Where has pleasing others out of exhaustion got you?
