It sought power because men in the mass were frail cowardly creatures who could not endure liberty or face truth, and must be ruled over and systematically deceived by others who were stronger than themselves.

Being in a minority, even a minority of one, did not make you mad... If you cling to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad... Sanity is not statistical

The masses never revolt of their own accord, and they never revolt merely because they are oppressed. Indeed, so long as they are not permitted to have standards of comparison, they never even become aware that they are oppressed.

The only secure basis for oligarchy is collectivism. Wealth and privilege are most easily defended when they are possessed jointly.

Today the war Is waged by each ruling group against its own subjects, and the object of the war is not to make or prevent conquests of territory, but to keep the structure of society intact.
