It's not necessarily a bad thing, but this story feels like a fanfiction delving into a couple and fleshing out their relationship and story because the main story didn't give them enough. Since I'm starting with this, I have no connection to these two and it's just not interesting/exciting enough for me.

Maybe the narrator is improving, but it's so goddamn slow. I had to turn up the speed even higher than usual. The pause between every dialogue sentence and the narration of "she said" etc is driving me insane.

I'm not sure about this one. I thought I'd start with this one to prepare to tackle the actual first book, but the dialogue is a bit weird and the audiobook has so many pauses between sentences and just feels incredibly slow. I need to give it some more time to see if her voice changes to something I can handle, when the character is an adult as well.
