Finished The Sepulcher and The Price of Life. Sepulcher is AI nonsense, but The Price of Life is decent, still AI but not terrible, based on the real price of life re: the actual issue of exploitation for organ transplant doners in other countries.

The Snitch would have been good if the twist was more twisty but this ended without anything making sense. Oh well.

Sovereign is a great prose about the Tonka tree, though once again, and I am hoping authors reach out to prove me wrong, but it feels like another story that was “fixed” by AI. I want to be wrong so bad

Finished No Man’s Land, this so far is the longest story in the collection, but it is also another good one! Plot twist right at the end (rude!) that I hated in the best way, I saw it coming but not like that!

While the AI image usage will always be my chief complaint, Story Four, “Bone Monument” by Sierra Wardjamin so far is the best story I have read in this collection! Pleasantly surprised, excellent story telling that reminds me of Shane Hawks “Behind Colin’s Eyes” from the Never Whistle at Night Anthology in terms of staggered child/teen perspective story telling

Story Three was much better! Descriptions weren’t over done, and it kept me engaged, this one really kept me engaged! But, as I continue to the read, the more and more I am wishing there were author blurbs at the end of each story.

Story two done. A little better, AI image, but this reads better. More like someone actually wrote it and put it through AI to smooth out. Not terrible, but again, I cannot find even an Amazon presence for the author of this one, Cornelia Aroso? Help me out yall

Finished story one and I’m on to story two. I’m a bit disappointed because my first ARC is very obvious AI slop. Photos are AI, story 1 is AI or at the very least, horrifically AI edited (either the authors are AI or the authors are being done a disservice by having their stories fed through an AI.

Lots of tell tale signs and blatant usage. I don’t need an AI checker to confirm this. Will continue to read.
