I can not handle this. The fourth floor. ?! Honestly. What the actual fk. The drama. No. This is not what I signed up for.

It was just getting good again but y’all if what I expect to happen is happens I’ll riot. And in a bitter sweet kind of way.

The intent of this novel was fantastic. The execution thus far, subpar. The writing is awful. The trauma dumping, heavy handed.

Halfway in and Frankie is home now. I’m intrigued that we will be getting such a detailed look into the aftermath of war. However I’ve read more thoughtful PTSD responses in romances novels than this so far. So I’m not looking forward to the next 50%

It’s clearly a me thing. Because this is not it for me. The trauma yes very emotionally triggering. It gets you. But take the very surface level trauma moments away and what are you left with. A sever lack of depth and a hell of a lot of telling and not showing.
