She was unable to accept that she was a little girl. And not equipped for the job. Over the years I have found that in cases where a child has been handed an adult responsibility at too young an age -and they inevitably fail at it- they will forever be anxious about that task as an adult. They never seem to accept that they were too young to manage the task. Instead they internalize their failure in accomplishing it.
