Alchemised had potential, but it ultimately fell short of what it could have been. The author could have taken more time to strengthen both the writing and the world-building when adapting this story from fan fiction into a novel. For readers unfamiliar with the original fanfic, it’s difficult to connect with the history, characters, and even the magic system all of which feel underdeveloped.
