I wish I could read Boll in German. I've read the translations of Billiards at Half-past Nine and Group Portrait... and liked them. Both my parents had German family names but from long-ago immigration and we haven't known how to speak German for several generations. My children and I all know a fair amount of Spanish though!

I find his language to be very ... precise.
