I mean no offense to the author but it seems Daphne’s journal entries/letters are the only interesting part of the book. For like 200 pages we’ve barely made any meaningful progress towards discovering what happened to Daphne, where Daphne is, and what caused Tessa to leave. I’m sure all the little tidbits of information will come together to make a beautiful climax, but it feels almost boring to read.

Max only gets more and more suspicious the more I read. He definitely has something to do with Daphne’s disappearance and he might’ve done it to get with Miranda despite her being his niece. Just a strange man. Also, Tom’s a bit of a doormat.

Beatrice and Maximillian both cheating on eachother??? Meryl being a victim??? And main girl just acts like this info is useless! She must not like to gosssip.

what is in daphne’s journal and what is going on with the girl’s family back in australia?

It seems like there’s more to Daphne than just an alcoholic mother. I think Max plays a big role in it and he’s definitely hiding something. Just not sure what.
