I’m not very far in, and it’s very clever, I want very much to like it, but why does every modern female main character have to hate men? Why can’t they be strong and interesting without hating men and bemoaning the patriarchy all the time?

OK, so seriously the level of man-bashing in this book! I don’t get it. The author is a man. Does he think this is how women feel? Is he doing it to try to make his female leads “authentic“? If so, I feel bad. What did the women in his life do to him?
